Guard Columns
Ohio Valley Guard Columns consist of 5 meters of deactivated fused silica tubing and high temperature string. All guard columns are extremely inert and pretested.
These columns are useful in protecting your analytical gc column from harmful non-volatile contaminants that are commonly found in many environmental and industrial samples.
Attach the guard column to front of the analytical gc column with a fused silica connectors or a zero dead volume union to extend your column’s lifetime. The non-volatile contaminants are deposited onto the guard column.
We also offer fused silica tubing in longer lengths, such as 15 meters, 30 meters, and 60 meters. They are available in 0.18mm, 0.25mm, 0.32mm, and 0.53mm IDs. These columns are deactivated using a phenyl-methyl deactivation technique that renders the tubing extremely inert. Acceptable for use in transfer lines.
